Season 3, episode 10 sees Christmas come to Sunnydale where Buffy and the Scooby gang fight evil, with occasional moments of Christmas cheer, by solving the problem of the dying Christmas trees.
The Snow Report
It snows at the end, as a Christmas episode this is unremarkable however for one set in California this is a big deal and is treated as such by the characters, including a weather forecast explaining how it has occurred.
The big man makes no appearance in this movie, but there are many other, fictional very old characters instead.
Baubles, Lights and Tinsel
Reasonably good decor, though of course it is shot in a very subdued, washed out way as you would expect this being a Buffy episode. Incidentally the festive trees play a significant part in the episode and it is later dressed on camera. Faiths motel room does very well with a single set of lights, that is duly noted by Buffy.
Will It Make Me Cry?
People fully invested in Buffy may find this emotional but otherwise you will be fine.
Occasional carol singing in the background but otherwise mostly Buffy as usual.
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan and Anthony Stewart Head kind of started here and all went on to other things eventually.
Well its Joss Whedon so you know its going to be watchable and it is and its fun and a nice change of pace it is has been wall to wall Christmas movie.
