A traditional telling of the Christmas Carol with typical of the 1970's special effects and rather complex dialogue at times, watchable but perhaps not a classic.
The Snow Report
Lots of snow from the very start of the telling or the Christmas Carol, in fact enough for shopping with a sledge.
No Santa, however there is a song about Father Christmas, though at the end the big mans suit returns.
Baubles, Lights and Tinsel
At times the decor is very impressive but often lacking as the story requires.
Will It Make Me Cry?
Perhaps it will but I don't think it is likely, I guess if you cry at the Christmas Carol story this will make you cry.
It is a musical so there is lots of singing. However with the exceptions of the carols you are unlikely to know the songs until we get to 'Thank You Very Much'.
A cast of many big names such as Albert Finney and Alec Guinness.
This film features some of the brightest candles every seen on film and the ghost of Christmas past is so posh. This version of the Christmas Carol reminds me of the Muppet version very much at times.
